My journey with LW Designs commenced unexpectedly in 2008, amidst the recession, when a friend requested floral paintings for her wedding invitations. This humble request ignited the concept that blossomed into LW Designs, initially conceived as a platform to amplify the African American voice. As we evolved, we discovered a niche in providing creative outlets for event expression. However, a personal tragedy, the loss of a friend to cancer, profoundly shaped our purpose. We recognized the significance of crafting enduring, meaningful designs to commemorate life's moments, especially for marginalized communities, forming our "Love letter to design."

My personal experiences, including multiple miscarriages and parental loss, have deeply influenced my perspective as both a designer and a mother. Despite the pain, these encounters have enriched my creativity, vision, and commitment to amplifying the African American voice through design.
